Lit!Solar was founded in 2009 by Ben Hirschfeld as a 15-year-old high school freshman, and has since brought the benefits of clean, healthy solar light to over 12,000 people. We feel proud to have partnered with, among others, LitWorld, the Children of Kibera Foundation, Project PEARLS, and Under the Acacia. And we feel honored to have won the following awards, recognition and grants which have helped us raise awareness and give light to those whose need it:
Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Award. $36,000 from the Helen Diller Family Foundation of San Francisco to youth selected for innovation, volunteerism, and “making the world a better place” (6/13).

TEDx Youth Day 2011 Chosen to present at conference on opportunities for youth impact.
